warnmcr: December dawns...

So December is upon us, the world is one big pantomime and we can no longer pretend that tinsel tat season is not nigh. On the upside, it also means you get a break from my weekly musings...

In the meantime, this weekend you can still catch Forced Entertainment's Real Magic at HOME tonight, Fri 1 Dec; and Mawaan Rizwan's Twerk in Progress at Contact tomorrow, Sat 2 Dec. Further afield tonight, Fri 1 Dec you can take your pick from Greg Wohead's Call It A Day (wip) at Bradford Theatre in the Mill or Jamal Gerald's Dogmatic at Live Art Bistro, Leeds, which also has Hannah Mook + XVElastin's Me and My Whale (wip) on Sat 2 Dec. Tangled Dance's Frosted by Magic is also at Heaton Hall (weekends til 17 Dec)

Next week (w/c 4 Dec) sees a bit of a flourish before panto season with Powder Keg's Morale Is High at Contact (6-8 Dec); while at HOME there's Meow Meow's Feline Intimate on Wed 6 Dec, Jinkx Monsoon + Major Scales's The Vaudevillians (7-9 Dec) and Tiger Lilies' A Cold Night on Thu 7 Dec. Elsewhere Top Joe is at Live Art Bistro on Wed 7 Dec and the Lightwaves Festival opens on Salford Quays (8-17 Dec).

The following week (w/c 11 Dec) Hot Brown Honey is at HOME (12-23 Dec) while, Slung Low's The Siege of Christmas returns to Contact (13-20 Dec) - or for a bit of a roadtrip, head to Sheffield Theatres for Darren Pritchard + Cheryl Martin's Rent Party (13-23 Dec).

Beyond that, it all goes a bit panto - so the Weekly Warning is going to take a break til sometime in January when the festive (metaphoric) hangover subsides - though, for an early warning look out for HOME's Push Festival (12-27 Jan) and Tim Cowbury's The Claim at Royal Exchange (10-13 Jan).

Have a good break.

best
