warnmcr: Edinburgh-bound...

Word of Warning...

So it's that time again, when the brave amongst us look northwards and attempt to take on the logistical quagmire of Edinburgh... not that I've spent the afternoon wrestling spreadsheets and booking systems or anything!  Those not heading for Edinburgh can breathe a sigh of relief and read no further - this mailer will be back in September!

For the fringephile, I've uploaded our 'long-list' of shows (forgive any obvious omissions of the better known companies, such as Forced Entertainment (and also at Forest Fringe), Bryony Kimmings - for which it might be worth having a look at the British Council Showcase List)

The list is in no way exhaustive - just my attempt to make sense of what Word of Warning might be wanting to see, all in the course of a couple of frantic daytrips - logistics this year seem to be saying that we won't be achieving all that much of it!

As ever, we'll be mainly hanging around Forest Fringe (17-30 Aug) and Summerhall and our top targets include:
At Forest Fringe: Action Hero, Ira Brand, Tania El Khouri, Vincent Gambini, Project O, Verity Standen, Nick Field, None of Us Is Yet A Robot and Eggs Collective.
At Summerhall: Mark Thomas, Shit Theatre, Third Angel, Diane Torr, Greg McLaren, Tim Spooner and Ellie Dubois
At DanceBase: Wendy Houstoun, Jo Fong, Claire Cunningham
And at Pleasance Courtyard: Victoria Melody.

Nb: Please check dates carefully with edfringe.com as you don't want to fall prey to random days off - and my tip is to log-in to it, and use the favourites facility (you can export your favourites as a handy spreadsheet!)

Enjoy(!) the list and Edinburgh itself, and we'll be back with our new season in early Septmember.

Best
