warnmcr: not that I'm superstitious but...

...triskaidekaphobia could be the order of the day as we hurtle ever faster onwards through October.

This weekend, possibly in keeping with the date, Contact has Peaches Christ, Jinkx Monsoon + Holestar's Hocum Pokem on Fri 13 + Sat 14 Oct; and at HOME, Orbit festival's final weekend has Lemn Sissay's Something Dark tonight, Fri 13 Oct; We Are Ian (til Sat 14 Oct); Paper Birds's Mobile (til Sun 15 Oct).  Also there's the chekhovian Khloe Kardashian, by the Arden School of Theatre with Sleepwalk Collective, also tonight Fri 13 Oct at Shena Simon Campus Waterside Theatre; Amy Lawrence's Gut Healing at the Portico Library on Sat 14 Oct; Matrafisc Dance's Soul's Paths  at The Wonder Inn (13-15 Oct); while Jackie Hagan's Cosmic Scallies concludes at the Royal Exchange on Sat 14 Oct. Further afield, Two Destination Language's Manpower is at The HUB, Leeds on Sun 15 Oct.

Next week (w/c 16 Oct) of course Word of Warning has Akeim Toussaint Buck's Windows of Displacement at STUN on Thu 19 Oct (act fast as we've just increased capacity so there is a small handful of tickets now available).
Elsewhere in parts Mancunian Clod Ensemble's Under Glass (18-21 Oct) and Igor and Moreno's Andante (Thu 19 + Fri 20 Oct) are at The Lowry; Motionhouse's Charge is at HOME (Tue 17 + Wed 18 Oct). Darren Pritchard's Body of Light is at Lancaster Arts on Sat 21 and Sale Waterside on Sun 22 Oct.  Also further afield, Edgehill has Andy Smith's The Preston Bill on Tue 17 Oct and Grace Surman's Motherload on Thu 19 Oct. In Liverpool 1927's Golem is at the Everyman (18-21 Oct); and Instructions for Border Crossing is at the Unity on Sat 21 Oct. Imitating the Dog's Nocturnes is at Lancaster Arts on Tue 17 + Wed 18 Oct;  Reckless Sleepers' Schrödinger is at Axis, Crewe on Thu 19 Oct; and Forced Entertainment's Tomorrow's Parties is at Theatre Delicatessen, Sheffield on Fri 20 Oct; while Lucy Hopkins's Le Foulard is at the HUB, Leeds on Sun 22 Oct. Yet further away, for the dedicated enthusiast, Fierce Festival is in Birmingham (16-26 Oct).

The following week (w/c 23 Oct) it might be half term and for the young at heart Contact has Le Gateau Chocolat - but don't be lulled into thinking it's a quiet week though, as the non-stop parade of Manchester festivals rolls on with Flying Solo 2017 (27 Oct-11 Nov) also at Contact, featuring Jackie Hagan, Demi Nandra, Afreena Islam and Paul O'Donnell amongst others.  The Lowry has Candoco and Chanje Kunda while further afield Axis, Crewe also has Paul O'Donnell and Third Angel, and Rebecca Atkinson Lord is at Bradford Theatre in the Mill.

Enjoy Friday the 13th - I'm going to tempt fate with a funding application... Hope to see you at Akeim Toussaint Buck's Windows of Displacement next Thursday.

best
