warnmcr: octoberfest...

So here we are in the afterglow of Emergency and a big thanks to all the great artists, audiences and team. When I predicted staggering, slurring and tired and emotional behaviour I wasn't actually expecting that to be *me* - Emergency on food poisoning is really taking live art just a touch far!

Terrifyingly we're already almost a week into October and the full force of autumn programme continues. This weekend you can still catch Daniel Bye's Instructions for Border Crossing at HOME til Sat 7 Oct (Selina Thompson's Salt has been cancelled due to illness); and Mary Pearson's Fomo, Mofos! is at Sale Waterside tonight, Fri 6 Oct.  Elsewhere,  SH!T Theatre's Letters To Windsor House is at Live Art Bistro tonight Fri 6 Oct and Emma Decent's I Don't Know What I'm Supposed To Be Doing is at Burnley Library on Sat 7 Oct (also at Brighouse Library on Fri 13 Oct.)

Next week (w/c  9 Oct) take another deep breath: HOME has The Believers Are But Brothers (9-12 Oct), We Are Ian (12-14 Oct), Bourgeois + Maurice (10+11 Oct), Paper Birds's Mobile (11-15 Oct ) and Lemn Sissay's Something Dark on Fri 13 Oct. Contact has Aakash Odedra's Je Suis (10-12 Oct) and Peaches Christ, Jinkx Monsoon + Holestar's Hocum Pokem on Fri 13 + Sat 14 Oct.  Fresh from its Emergency research Matrafisc Dance's Soul's Paths  is at The Wonder Inn (13-15 Oct); while Jackie Hagan's Cosmic Scallies continues at the Royal Exchange until Sat 14 Oct.

Further afield Charlie Morrissey + Paula Hampson are at Axis, Crewe on Tue 10 Oct; in Liverpool at the Unity, there's Brigitte Aphrodite's My Beautiful Black Dog (Wed 11 + Thu 12 Oct) and Cheryl Martin's Alaska on Thu 12 Oct; and in Leeds at Live Art Bistro there's Scottee's Bravado on Thu 12 Oct.

The following week (w/c 16 Oct) things calm down a touch around these parts BUT, for the hard core, Fierce Festival kicks off in Birmingham (16-26 Oct).  Of course, we at Word of Warning will be back in the fray with the (nearly sold-out) Akeim Toussaint Buck at STUN; while elsewhere in parts Mancunian Igor and Moreno and Clod Ensemble are at The Lowry; Motionhouse are at HOME; and Darren Pritchard is at Sale Waterside.  Further afield Andy Smith and Grace Surman are at Edgehill; 1927 at Liverpool Everyman; Reckless Sleepers at Axis, Crewe; Forced Entertainment at Theatre Delicatessen, Sheffield.

best
