warnmcr: pulling a blinder...

I'm exceedingly bleary today after a week in a hot dark room staring at very bright lights to bring you Works Ahead 2018 - huge congrats to both Emma Geraghty and Vijay Patel. From maggots to Scalextric, tequila to Ed Sheeran... there's a handful of tickets left for tonight, Fri 18 May at STUN Studio at Z-arts if you'd like to sample the fruits(!) of our labours...

Elsewhere this weekend at The Lowry you can still catch Fat Roland's Seven Inch tonight Fri 18 May (also on 24 + 25 May); Night Walks with Teenagers on Fri 18 + Sun 20 May;  MADHOUSE: Re-exit (18-25 May); Swan Lake on Fri 18 + Sat 19 May; and Joseph Toonga + Grace Surman on Sat 19 May (Pay What You Decide tickets still seem to be available for all shows). On Sat 19 May there's also the women only Lone Women In The Not Quite Light-Flashes Of Wildernesshappening late night in a Salford car park; while in Bradford Christopher Brett Bailey's Suicide Notes is at Theatre in the Mill, tonight Fri 18 May.

Next week (w/c 21 May) Week 53 Festival continues at The Lowry, including the aforementioned Fat Roland's Seven Inch on Thu 24 + Fri 25 May; and Fuse's Dökk on Sun 27 May; while HOME has Scottee's Fat Blokes (22-24 May). Further afield, Cheryl Martin's Who Wants To Live Forever is at Unity, Liverpool on Thu 24 May; Pauline Mayers + Jax Griffin's Nameless is at Theatre in the Mill, Bradford also on Thu 24 May; Barrel Organ's Anyone Guess How We Got Here is at Theatre Delicatessen, Sheffield on Fri 25 May; and the Pink Suits + Sam Kennedy double bill is at Live Art Bistro, Leeds on Sat 26 May.

The following week (w/c 28 May) we seem to have another Bank Holiday lull - though look out for Sophie Willan at The Lowry and the Performing Gender event at Yorkshire Dance, Leeds.

I'm off to play with toy cars - erm, I mean do some work - in the studio, please join us tonight at Works Ahead!

Best
