warnmcr: We've reached The Middle...

Word of Warning...

As the middle of the year beckons and, with it, the leaden skies and chilly temperatures of a Manchester summer, Word of Warning welcomes the third part of Michael Pinchbeck's trilogy The Middle - a foyer interval piece in bubble wrap, accompanying Sheila Ghelani's Rat, Rose, Bird - an atmospherically poetic meditation on leaving and staying put.

Michael Pinchbeck | Sheila Ghelani are at Z-arts on Fri 31 May, marking the end of our Z-arts 'term';  the beginning of 'Summer' and the middle of our season.

Before that, tonight (Fri 24 May) there's Embryo at Studio Salford; and tomorrow (Sat 25 May)  The Manopsychotisches Ballroom at 2022NQ, then on 28-30 May there's Ben Mellor's Anthropoetry at Contact.

Further afield Physical Fest in Liverpool at the Unity has Daphnis Kokkinos's Addio Addio Amore on Sat 25 May and Mary Pearson's Failure on Fri 31 May.  Ollie Smith's Cat in Hell is at Slung Low's HUB on Sun 26 May and, Live at LICA, Lancaster has the month appropriate (just) In May also on Fri 31st at Live at LICA.

Coming up the following week are Dickie Beau's Lost in Trans at Contact and a new artist-led evening Be Live at the Penthouse on Hilton Street.  As it's a quiet week in the north, anyone really craving some more live art should consider heading to the exotic environs of Leicester for a double whammy featuring Circuit 2013 and the ever-entertaining Hatch: Scratch.
