Word of Warning...
So first week of June and the weather's typically autumnal... Nevertheless, Quarantine's Summer (5-7 + 11-14 June) is underway in a Warehouse, somewhere in Salford!
There's a busy week happening at the Royal Exchange with Benji Reid directing Hoax's My Lonely Heart (til Sat 7 June) and the spectacle of the theatre module in circus mode for Puffball (8+9 June).
Further afield in Bradford, Irregular Arts Invite You To An Odd Occasion on Sat 7 June at Theatre in the Mill.
Next week (w/c 9 June) Quarantine's Summer continues, the regular Tales of Whatever is due to return to Gulliver's Ballroom on Wed 11 June; and there's Laura Mugridge at the Lowry on Sat 14. A little addendum is that Massive Owl's We Used To Wait is on as part of the University of Salford's Create Festival. There's also the opening of HOME's new theatre season with the sited Angel Meadow (10-29 June).
Of course the thing NOT to miss is the Flare Weekender taking place all over Z-arts on Fri 13 and Sat 14 June! Ten pieces of new work with contributions from Spain, Norway, the Netherlands and the UK, including our own Drunken Chorus, Leentje Van de Cruys and SheepKnuckle.
The following week (w/c) 16 June is quieter: up in Lancaster is Josh Coates's Particles, Bradford Theatre in the Mill has Jamie Wood's Beating McEnroe and closer to home the Lowry has Chris Thorpe + Hannah Jane Walker's I wish I was lonely.
Off to dig out my flares now... or am I missing the point? (I am old enough to remember them the first time though)
