warnmcr: A Rat, a Rose and a Bird In May...

Word of Warning...

Grabbing a few minutes away from the (big) get-in for tonight's Michael Pinchbeck | Sheila Ghelani double bill to write this.  It's all very grand and exciting in there - plush red velvet curtains, a follow-spot and everything... anyone would think we were doing theatre! So please do join us, tonight, Fri 31 May at Z-arts, 7.30pm.

The moral dilemmas of writing this mail hang heavy today - only an idiot would give a major plug to a genuinely very special clashing show (we saw the dress rehearsal last night) - but if you're not joining us at Z-arts, then do go and see In May at Live at LICA in Lancaster.  Not forgetting that Mary Pearson's Failure is also tonight at the Unity, Liverpool.

To the best of my knowledge, next week allows for a bit of a breather, but there's still Dickie Beau's Lost in Trans at Contact and a new artist-led evening Be Live at the Penthouse on Hilton Street.

Don't be lulled into a fall sense of end of season though as the following week picks up pace again:  Word of Warning is back at Contact with Andy Field's Zilla! plus there's the regular Tales of Whatever, an Embryo, and Mr Tam Hinton is back with one of his more theatrical numbers at the The Lowry.  Further afield, worth checking out in Liverpool is Dina Mousawi's Return at the Unity and in Leeds, Jaye Kearney's One.

We've just taken a delivery of a large consignment of chocolate rodents... no prizes for guessing what that's for, so I'd better go back to making myself useful for Michael Pinchbeck + Sheila Ghelani tonight - hope to see you there for the last Word of Warning at Z-arts of the season.

best
