Word of Warning...
Finally, seemingly, the storms have given way to some relatively clement weather... just hoping it holds out for our little outing to the urban oasis that is Hulme Community Garden Centre next weekend for Tom Marshman's We Need to Talk About Bambi (Sat 13 and Sun 14 June).
Before that, the performance climate has brightened up a bit too. At The Lowry, you can still catch Luisa Omielan's Am I Right Ladies?! on Sun 7 June; then next week on Wed 10 + Thu 11 June there's Igor and Moreno Idiot-Syncrasy (you may remember Moreno from a rather unique rendition of Nessun Dorma at Emergency in 2012..!) At Contact on Thu 11 and Fri 12 June there's Moving Dance Forward, featuring Joseph Lau, Bridget Fiske, Christopher Owen and Lisi Perry.
Over the Pennines there's Theatrestate's Tribute Acts at Bradford Theatre in the Mill on Sat 13 June and Kate O'Donnell's Big Girl's Blouse at Slung Low's HUB in Leeds on Sun 14 June.
The following week parts Mancunian seem a bit quiet again, though there's Stella Grundy in Bradford and Idle Motion in Leeds.
The combined forces of WoW and Derelict meanwhile are off on a daytrip to see Robert Wilson IN Krapp's Last Tape before coming back for WoW's final show of Spring/Summer - Ria Hartley's Matilda and Me.
I'm off to order rain ponchos as insurance to keep the rain away through to next weekend! Have a good week.
