warnmcr: ahead of the crowd...

Word of Warning...

This week's Word of Warning comes to you from the plush red finery of Contact's Space 1, with the glow of my laptop seeming anachronistic in the face of the slightly sepia tinted Works Ahead tech run I'm sitting in...

To stray just slightly from the our specific work ahead - still to come: this Bank Holiday weekend (2-4 May), WoAh2013 alumni, 70/30 Split kick off Gateshead International Festival (GIFT) tonight (Fri 2 May) - which continues with (amongst others) with Third Angel's Cape Wrath,  our own Sara Cocker + Nicki Hobday's Age Concerns, and Nic Green's Fatherland.  The following week, still across the Pennines, there's also Gecko's Institute at West Yorkshire Playhouse on 7-10 May.

Back in Manchester and back to Word of Warning's current fixture - or fixation - on 8+9 May at Contact (same programme both nights), is Works Ahead - three short works in development exploring the mindset of the performer:  SheepKnuckle's Echo, Linsday Bennett's Exit Smiling and Paul O'Donnell's Nothing!

Following straight on, on Sat 10 May, comes a preview of Hetain Patel's American Boy also at Contact.

Thereafter (w/c 12 May) sees Studio Matejka at The Lowry, Nick Birchill at Sale Waterside and Unlimited Theatre at the Royal Exchange.  Looking further ahead, Word of Warning is also pleased to boast a new addition to its roster: The Flare Weekender (13 + 14 June).

Time to go-see how two young men in soundproof boxes are doing upstairs - hope to see you at Works Ahead!

best
