warnmcr: an ill wind...

As the winds of change blow viciously across the Atlantic, closer to home the torch passes to PUSH Festival.

This weekend Éowyn-willing, you can catch the last show at Future Flares with Pinchbeck + Smith's A Seventh Man today Fri 24 Jan; before PUSH 2025 (24 Jan - 8 Feb) at HOME takes over with Afreena Islam-Wright's Lucky Tonight (Fri 24 + Sat 25 Jan).

In Blackpool there's a Scratch Night at the Old Electric tonight Fri 24 Jan.

Next week (w/c 27 Jan) PUSH 2025 at HOME has Switch_Mcr's Bad Science on Mon 27 + Tue 28 Jan, Maz Hedgehog's What Is Love To A Goddess (wip) on Tue 28 + Wed 29 Jan;  Smug Roberts' Dementia Street on Wed 29 + Thu 30 Jan; Unhinged on Thu 30 + Fri 31; Girl Gang's Millennial Pink on Fri 31 Jan + Sat 1 Feb and Mothers Who Make' s Motherkind on Sat 1 Feb.
At Contact, there's Magical Animals: A Tribute to Jackie Hagan on Sat 1 Feb.

Further afield, Sheffield Theatres have Eleanor May Blackburn's Does My Fanny Look Big In This? on Wed 29 Jan and Jenni Jackson's Endurance on Fri 31 Jan + Sat 1 Mar.  Unity, Liverpool's Scratch Night on Thu 30 Jan; and Porcelain Delaney's Toilet Paper Diaries is at the Old Electric in Blackpool on Fri 31 Jan - although the web page appears to have disappeared so it's anyone's guess!

The following week (w/c 3 Feb) for us is all about the very first Social Experiment on Thu 6 Feb at Contact. It does what it says on the pack - a complete experiment and a bit of a lucky dip in hopefully convivial social surroundings.

PUSH 2025 has Jenny Gaskell's Sustainable Travel Agency (wip) (until 8 Feb); Hafsah Aneela Bashir's Four Dholis and a Divorce (wip) pm Fri 7 + Sat 8 Feb; and A-Hole & Propel x Dibby Theatre on Sat 8 Feb.
On Fri 7 Feb Lowry has Sixth House's Lives and New Adelphi has Ocean Chillingworth's Monster Show. For something discursive there's a Bunker Talk by Stephen Scott-Bottoms x Andy Smith on Tue 4 Feb at the Salutation.

Further afield, the only thing I spotted was Ben Elton's Authentic Stupidity at Chester Storyhouse on Wed 5 Feb.

Meanwhile have a look at Word of Warning's current performance schedule and, for the artists among you, our call for proposals for Turn 2025 closes on Fri 31 Jan.

Keep checking our News + Information page for more pointers to opportunities and show videos online, and @WarnMcr on Twitter (X if you must) for short-notice performances.
