This week the Government has seemingly developed an acute case of logophobia - or another phobia they'd rather couch as 'wrongism'; while in Rochdale, the Opposition has simply ceded the debate to the Big Brother cat

On this delightful first day of 'Spring' in parts cultural:
This weekend, Chris Thorpe's A Family Business is at HOME (until 2 Mar); while in Leeds, Verve are at the Riley Theatre tonight Fri 1 Mar.

Next week (w/c 4 Mar) in a tribute to Nigel Charnock, Marco D'Agostin's Best Regards is at The Lowry on Tue 5 Mar. Verve are at New Adelphi, University of Salford on Sat 9 Mar - or for something more discursive there's a Bunker Talk at The Salutation on Tue 5 Mar.
To the West, the Arts Centre at Edgehill University has Wendy Houstoun's Watch It on Tue 5 Mar and Vanhulle Dance's Olive Branch on Thu 7 Mar; while in Liverpool, Izzie Major's The Bedroom is at the Adelphi Hotel (6-9 Mar). To the East,  The Polar Bear (is dead) is at The LBT, Huddersfield on Wed 6 Mar; while in Leeds, FlawBored's It's a Motherf*cking Pleasure is at Leeds Playhouse (7-9 Mar) and Kasra Jalilipour's Apocrypha of the Later Saints is at CLAY on Fri 8 Mar.

The following week, (w/c 11 Mar) on Mon 11 Mar Seamas Carey's Help! I Think I'm A Nationalist is at Bolton Octagon. The Lowry has Imitating the Dog's Frankenstein (12-14 Mar), Wendy Houstoun's Watch It on Thu 14 Mar and Marisa Carnesky's Showwomen on Sat 16 Mar (also in Lancaster on Thu 14 Mar). Jenny Baines & Anna Macdonald's Collaborative Sharing at Pink in Stockport on Thu 14 Mar. Criptic Arts' Self and Other is at HOME on Fri 15 + Sat 16 Mar and there's the Not Quite Light Festival in Swinton (15-17 Mar - though details of what it entails are sparse).
The Arts Centre at Edgehill University has Altered Skin's Fatherhood on Tue 12 Mar and The Polar Bear (is dead) on Thu 14 Mar. Also on Thu 14 Mar, Rosy Carrick's Musclebound is at Theatre Deli, Sheffield.

As a footnote, if you're looking for a night out in Cheshire - check out The Upside Down Cabaret at the Live Rooms, Chester, on the last Wednesday of the month.
