Word of Warning — Weekly Warning

While one of our number jets off to warmer honeymoon climes, those remaining at Word of Warning are cuddling up under our duvets for another visit by the marvellous (and sold-out) Ms Makishi. This may come as cold comfort to those of you who missed out on a ticket, so a quick plea - as it's PWYD, if you've booked a ticket and know you can't use it, please can you cancel it so it can be reallocated; and if you're looking for a ticket, keep checking with The Lowry as they'll release any returns from today.  

But first, this weekend in Mancunia, Travis Alabanza's Burgerz is at the Royal Exchange Theatre (until 17 Nov, also sold-out but you can catch in Liverpool on Sunday); and Contact presents Amy Vreeke's The Year My Vagina Tried To Kill Me at New Adelphi Theatre, University of Salford on Fri 16 + Sat 17 Nov. 

DaDaFest and homotopia continue in Liverpool with Mandy Redvers-Rowe's Measuring Up on Sat 17 Nov at Liverpool Everyman; Fittings Multimedia's Mop The House tonight Fri 16 Nov; Scottee's Fat Blokes on Sat 17 Nov both at the Unity; and Travis Alabanza's Burgerz on Sun 18 Nov at Hope Street Theatre.

Elsewhere, tonight Fri 16 Nov, Kate O'Donnell's You've Changed is at Derelict Live at the Media Factory; Jamal Gerald's Dogmatic is at Theatre Deli in Sheffield; while, in Leeds, Compass Festival is up and running until 25 Nov.

Next week (w/c 19 Nov) Word of Warning's focus is on the Lowry for Tourette's Hero's Not I on Tue 20 + Wed 21 Nov; and Stacy Makishi's The Comforter on Wed 21 Nov (check back for returns). Proud & Loud's Cells - A Body of Work is at The Whitworth Fri 23-Sun 25 Nov, with the solo work on Friday and Assessment on Sat/Sun (my plan to see the most is to go for a long lunch on Friday).

On Merseyside, DaDaFest continues with The Depressed Artists' Support Bureau at The Bluecoat (Mon 19 + 26 Nov); and Mia - Daughters of Fortune on Tue 20 Nov at the Unity;  The Space In Between on Wed 21 Nov at Metal; and Tourette's Hero's Not I on Fri 23 Nov at the Bluecoat.  homotopia has Jinkx Monsoon + Major Scales' The Ginger Snapped on Wed 21 Nov at the Epstein Theatre; and Cheryl Martin's Alaska on Fri 23 Nov at Open Eye Gallery.

Elsewhere Mary Pearson's FoMO mofos! gets an outing to Chester University on Wed 21 Nov. 

Compass Festival is at full tilt Thu 22 - Sun 25 Nov with Jack Tan, French Mottershead, Scottee, Bethany Wells and more.  The weekend (Sat 24 + Sun 25 Nov) seem like the best time for a trip to Leeds, and I found page 2 of the brochure really helpful for an overview.

The following week (w/c 26 Nov) things look like they're beginning to calm down for the season but Aakash Odedra and Gandini Juggling Project are at The Lowry; Split Britches are in Leeds; Irregular Arts in Bradford and Andy Smith is in Lancaster.
