Those who slept through the night's 'efficient' landslide have woken to the end of one road and a map of a different hue. It's possibly a sad day for satire with the dispatch of some major clowns, though the emboldened farago will surely continue the joke, however unfunny.

For those still awake, this weekend, Greater Manchester Fringe is underway and you could try Tides at Salford Arts Theatre tonight, Fri 5 Jul or Nexxus Dance's The Restaurant at The Fitzgerald (5-7 Jul).
There's also Lowri Evans + Renato Bolelli Rebouças's Carousel of Us in Swinton Square (until 6 Jul).

Elsewhere, Chester Storyhouse has Lovestruck (until 6 Jul).

Next week (w/c 8 Jul) on Monday, Daniel Kitson's Collaborator is at Bolton Octagon, while Sweet Dreams opens at Aviva Studios on Thu 11 Jul (until 1 Sep). On the GM Fringe, Igloof Haus's Jewel + Olivera is at Social Refuge on Mon 8 Jul, while Sam Lowe's The Imposter is at King's Arms on Sat 13 Jan.

Further afield, in Leeds, the Ageless Festival takes place on Fri 12 + Sat 13 Jul with Susan Kempster + Lisa Kendall, Fevered Sleep + Company of People, Das Clarks + Jo Fong with Becky Davies, Two Destination Language and Carl Harrison. Further afield, on Thu 11 + Fri 12 Jul Departure Lounge is at Derby Theatre.

The following week (w/c 15 Jul) on the Fringe there's Joshua Val Martin's With Love, Mr Gay on Tue 16 Jul at Social Refuge. Contact has Knock & Nash's Pillock on Wed 17 + Thu 18 Jul; and The Lowry has Brave Space (18-20 Jul).

Further afield Tian Glasgow's Tomorrow is not Promised is at The LBT, Huddersfield on Wed 17 Jul; and Oranges + Stones is at The Unity in Liverpool on Thu 18 Jul. The Warrington Arts Festival (19-27 Jul) kicks off including Night People's Aphrodite's House Party on Thu 19 Jul and Lowri Evans's I'm Glad You Came on Sat 20 and Sun 21 Jul at Warrington Central Station.
