As the seemingly endless stream of scandals plays tag with a journalistic game of gotcha, project farago seems to have hit a new low. At least by this time next week we should know the outcome.

In the interim, for something less tawdry...

This weekend, Short Supply's Scratch is at Islington Mill on Fri 28 Jun; and Out of CTRL is at the Lowry with Andee Collard's Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction and Heather Alice's Sanspective on Fri 28 Jun and Shawn J Stephen's Constellations of Care and Scarlett Rose Lovette's Pseudo//Seizure Diary on Sat 29 Jun.

Further afield, tonight Fri 28 Jun Thick & Tight's Tits & Teeth is at Blackpool Grand; and Roadhouse Improvisation is at Wainsgate Chapel, Hebden Bridge. On Sat 29 Jun Fireflies at Dawn is at Slung Low's Warehouse in Leeds.

Next week (w/c 1 Jul) sees the start of Greater Manchester Fringe. Things that caught my eye Tides at Salford Arts Theatre on Thu 4 + Fri 5 Jul; Nexxus Dance's The Restaurant at The Fitzgerald (5-7 Jul).
There's also Girl Gang's Itch That Scratch Night at Contact on Wed 3 Jul; Lowri Evans + Renato Bolelli Rebouças's Carousel of Us in Swinton Square (4-6 Jul); or for something discursive there's a Bunker Talk with Big Telly at the Salutation on Tue 2 Jul.

Elsewhere, Chester Storyhouse has Lovestruck (4-6 Jul).

The following week (w/c 8 Jul) on Monday, Daniel Kitson's Collaborator is at Bolton Octagon, while Sweet Dreams opens at Aviva Studios on Thu 11 Jul (until 1 Sep). On the GM Fringe, Igloof Haus's Jewel + Olivera is at Social Refuge on Mon 8 Jul, while Sam Lowe's The Imposter is at King's Arms on Sat 13 Jan.

Further afield, in Leeds, the Ageless Festival takes place on Fri 12 + Sat 13 Jul with Susan Kempster + Lisa Kendall, Fevered Sleep + Company of People, Das Clarks + Jo Fong with Becky Davies, Two Destination Language and Carl Harrison. Further afield, on Thu 11 + Fri 12 Jul Departure Lounge is at Derby Theatre.

Online, check out Melanie Wilson's Dreaming Species listening experience for headphones.
