warnmcr: flaring-up

Word of Warning...

So much for the threatened mailer-break - I obviously just can't help myself....
On top of a recap of next week's Flare Festival (13-18 July),  we've come across an extra handful of things worth a mention in the next couple of weeks - so here goes:

Flare Festival takes over the Royal Exchange, Contact, Z-arts and the Martin Harris Centre (University) from Monday 13 July. Opening with the return of Sleepwalk Collective's As the Flames Rose..., alongside the UK contributions, our European correspondent speaks highly of Hof Van Eede and Sanne Van Rijn (Johnny's Horse) (Tues triple bill).  In fact the nightly triple bills might be a good place to start - for a quick timetable have a look at the booking page.

Meanwhile, over in Liverpool, check out Albino Mosquito's The Disadvantages of Time Travelan interactive mind control installation at FACT (14-19 Jul).

After all that, Lindsay Bennett's Mercury Complex (last seen at Emergency 2013) is at the King's Arms, Salford (Sun 19 - Tue 21 Jul) and Hannah Butterfield's 21000 Miles of Rail is at the Lowry Studio on Wed 23 Jul.

The following week (w/c 27 July) possible things to look out for are Quina Chapman's Banjo Man at the King's Arms, Salford; for a bit of spectacleL Stockton International Riverside Festival; and a preview of Daniel Bye's Going Viral at the HUB, Leeds.

I'll be back at the beginning of August with a quick gambol through Edinburgh (particularly focusing on the final two weeks because of Forest Fringe and the British Council Showcase).

Meanwhile, after an extremely random trip to a palace in London next week (yes, really!), Word of Warning will be focusing on programming Autumn's Domestic II and recruiting artists for the sixteenth(!) Emergency (artists's call-out will go live on Monday 13 July here).

Best,

Tamsin
