On this April Fool's morning, it's the weather that appears to be pulling the biggest pranks, overshadowed only by the general wind-up that is the cost of living... In performance world April seems very much to be offering up an Easter lull.

This weekend: this afternoon, Fri 1 Apr, University of Salford's Adelphi Theatre may or may not have a Non-event while tonight Nothing Happens (Twice) at The Lowry (until 2 Apr) and Contact hosts Platform's The Showcase.

Also tonight, Fri 1 Apr in Sheffield, the University has Untold Dance Theatre's On the Insidewhile in Leeds,  Tom Cassani is at CLAYground and Transform has Sable Radio's A Soft Raptureand Rachel Mars's Forge (until Sat 2 Apr).

The next weeks of April seems pretty quiet. You can catch DIS:Play on Sat 9 Apr at Contact and Victor Esses's The Death And Life Of All Of Us on Thu 13 Apr at Manchester Jewish Museum. In the week commencing 18 Apr Theo Clinkard  and Jean Daniel Brouss are at The Lowry and Artesbandes, Bertrand Lesca + Nasi Voutsas are at HOME.

Further afield, Victoria Firth's How to be Amazingly Happy is in Sheffield on Wed 6 April and Amanda Piña's Frontera is in Leeds on Fri 8 + Sat 9 Apr. Also coming up at CLAY in Leeds is Howl Yuan's Impossible Homecoming (12-16 Apr) and Will Dickie is at Unity, Liverpool on Thu 21 Apr (coming to Manchester in May).
