warnmcr: Forced Ents and Dickie Beau in Manc and a plethora of options if you hit the road

Word of Warning...

Big thanks to all who came to last Friday's double bill - really enjoyable - and even bigger thanks to Mssrs Smith and DeDomenici for some great work.

I'm a tad confused as my head's somewhere in the middle of next Spring... the time-travelling joys of programming... but there's definitely some exciting stuff lining up!

Wrestling my head back into the current timeframe - the week ahead is looking a bit busy all over the place:

Manchester springs back into life next week with: Forced Entertainment's The Coming Storm
(Weds 14 - Fri 16 Nov) and Dickie Beau's Blackouts: Twilights of the Idols (Thurs 15- Sat 17 Nov) both at Contact.  There are also a couple of  intriguing spoken word events: Magical Animals at Sandbar on Mon 12 Nov and Tales of Whatever at the Castle, Oldham St on Thurs 14 Nov and don't forget to catch intriguing Chinese artist Yan Xing's exhibition of performative works at Chinese Arts Centre til 8 December.   There's also a durational piece 6-8pm on Sat 10 Nov: Roseanne Robertson's It's My Birthday and I'll Cry If I Want To in a new artist-led space: The Penthouse, 26-28 Hilton Street.

Across the Pennines, there's still a chance to catch Frantic Assembly's Beautiful Burnout at West Yorkshire Playhouse (6-10 Nov) or Imitating the Dog's 6 Degrees Below The Horizon at stage@leeds tonight Fri 9 Nov, and GETINTHEBACKOFTHEVAN's Big Hits at The Carriageworks on Sat 17 Nov.

In Huddersfield you can participate in Embrace Your Inner Luddite workshop by My Dad's Strip Club (Ange Taggart) on Saturday(call 01484 430528 for details) or catch Vincent Dance Theatre's Motherland
(Tues 13th) and Invisible Flock's Distant Threads (Fri 16 + Sat 17 Nov) all courtesy of the LBT.

Live at LICA, Lancaster is busy with Ridiculusmus's Total Football on Tues 13 + Weds 14 Nov, and Vincent Dance Theatre's Motherland on Thurs 15 Nov.

Homotopia is ongoing over in Liverpool - at the Walker Art Gallery on Sunday 11 Nov, there's
David Hoyle's
Archetype and the revival of the much missed Nigel Charnock's collaboration on Volcano's L.O.V.E  is at the Unity (Thurs 15- Sat 17 Nov).

Dogshelf/Bob & Lee's Into the good night (go) is ongoing at Axis Arts Centre at Crewe til 16 Nov... and up in Lancaster - not sure what they're up to but they did invite us for a sleepover!

Think that's quite enough to be getting on with... and has made me panic a bit about planning to get on that road to see stuff!

Best
