warnmcr: muTINy...

Here we are in the groundhoggery of 2020mk2, and while our rulers' internal 'party' dissent rumbles on, unbelievably I've realised that this Spring is also Word of Warning's tin anniversary. I can definitely assure you that any parties *we* might hold *will* be completely indistinguishable from work events...

Anyway - the performance world is still pretty sleepy but there are a few things this month worth noting:

IRL:
Over the next few weeks: at the Lowry, De Nada Dance Theatre's Mariposa is this Sun 16 Jan; while Thick + Tight's Short + Sweet is Tue 18 + Wed 19 Jan; Rob Newman's The Philosophy Show is Sat 29 Jan and Horizons Collective Shoots Scratch is Fri 4 Feb.
Sat 22 Jan sees the start of Turn On Festival at Hope Mill Theatre - the schedule seems to be a bit in flux so maybe look out for the Scratch Night on Sun 30 Jan or the Development Evening on Sun 6 Feb.

Further afield, Sheffield Theatres have Tania Camara's Oreo on Wed 19 Jan. Wigan Old Courts has The Empathy Experiment on Thu 20 Jan and Dibby Theatre's First Time on Wed 2 Feb. Lawrence Batley Theatre, Huddersfield has Motionhouse's Nobody on Tue 25 Jan; while in Leeds,  CLAY has Hole Again on Fri 28 Jan plus The Ofrenda installation continues until 19 Mar; while Yorkshire Dance has No Dress Code on Fri 4 Feb and Slung Low at The Holbeck has Avital Raz's My Jerusalem on Sat 5 Feb.

Online:
I have to confess I'm a bit confused by online offerings at the moment, quite a few things have vanished or paused but HOME has launched HOMESCREEN and there's also still MIF Watch On Demand.

In general, having trawled 80+ websites, I'm aware that quite a lot of organisations (us included) haven't yet published anything for this year so I will be re-examining them all and will be back, either at the end of January or early February depending on what I find!

Keep checking our News + Information page for more pointers to opportunities and show videos online, and @WarnMcr on Twitter for short-notice performances.

Best
