warnmcr: not miffed at all...

Word of Warning...

Welcome to a funny kind of interim mailer... really a reminder that, despite the supposed summer, the world as we know it hasn't stopped... there are still things performative going on - even outside Manchester International Festival!

Don't forget The Larks: Know Your Place  - is a new game at the People's History Museum tomorrow,  Sat 29 June.  There's a very limited capacity opportunity to see the next work in progress of Tuheen Huda's Pandamonium at Chinese Arts Centre on Mon 1 July.  Also intriguing is the Verb Project, 4-6 July at 4 Piccadilly Place.  Further afield, up in Lancaster LEAP presents Sturgeons's Law's M.A.I.R.O.U.L.A. on Sat 5 July at the Storey Institute.

The following week sees Contact present Leo Kay/Unfinished Business's Only Wolves and Lions 9-11 July, at a secret location, followed by PGB's work in progress on Fri 12 July at Contact.  Tales of Whatever is at the Castle on Wed 10 July, and also that day a blogging event and seminar on Activist Performance at MadLab.  Daniel Bye's The Price of Everything is at the Lowry on Sat 13 July, whilst, the same day, further afield, Emma Decent's Beyond Dreams of Aberystwyth is at Hebden Bridge Little Theatre.  Over in Sheffield on 20/21 July there's the Elevator Platform as part of Tramlines.  And of course, for those of a more theatrical disposition, 24:7 Theatre Festival runs 19-26 July.

And finally... in case it had escaped your notice, Manchester International Festival kicks off on 4 July.  Don't miss the Robert Wilson Old Woman; Nikhil Chopra at the Whitworth  (Fri 5 July 04.48 continuously until 21.37 on Sun 7 July) and the free work at the Mayfield Depot (Tino Seghal, Mette Ingvartsen, Dan Graham, Eszter Salomon, Mårten Spångberg).  Also check out the do it 2013 group art show at Manchester Art Gallery 6-21 July: good points of focus might be at 2pm on Sat 6 July with a reinterpretations of Jerome Bel's Shirtology or 2pm on Sun 7 July 2pm with Boris Charmatz (ensemble) Height.

Word of Warning will probably pop back up in late July or early August - maybe with a bit of an Edinburgh preview and some teasers about Autumn... or before that if we get wind of something unmissable.  For the artists amongst you, the Emergency 2013 call for proposals will open in mid July.

Until then have a nice 'summer'!

best

Tamsin
