warnmcr: not now Noddy...

As December dawns, I (alongside a certain frozen food retailer) am pondering whether debate over the human rights debacle of the football is more or less depressing than wall to wall 'festive cheer'. It seems way too late for the former and weirdly early for the latter, but looking at what's coming up, it seems my seasonal break is just about due:

IRL:
This weekend, seems pretty quiet in parts Mancunian, but in Liverpool, tomorrow Sat 26 Nov Kezia Cannon's The idea is to keep you inside is at the Unity and there's a Scratch Studio at the Everyman. Warrington Contemporary Fringe Festival runs 25-27 Nov + 1-4 Dec; while in Leeds Compass Festival is ongoing and The Lighthouse is at the Holbeck on Sat 26 Nov.

Next week (w/c 28 Nov) feels like the final flurry before the great panto takeover: Proteus's The Bloody Chamber is at The Lowry on Tue 29 Nov, Split Britches' The Last Gap at Contact on Wed 30 and Thu 1 Nov; and The Dan Daw Show is at HOME (1-3 Dec); while Lightwaves runs on Salford Quays (1- 4 Dec). Elsewhere, on Wed 30 Nov Avital Raz's Unnatural Cycles is at Sheffield Playhouse and Van Huynh Company Re:birth is at Lancaster Arts. In Liverpool, Mary Pearson's Witnessed in Translation is at Kitty's Launderette on Thu 1 Dec (and FACT on Tue 13 Dec); and Top Joe's Christmas MASS is at the Everyman on Fri 2 Dec. There's a Dance Scratch Night at the Pyramid in Warrington on Thu 1 Dec; and CLAYground: With Echoes is at CLAY in Leeds on Fri 2 Dec.

In December, as ever, festive shows take over ... but you could keep an eye out for Rob Newman and Bourgeois + Maurice at HOME and Occupational Hazard at the Holbeck and Northern Rascals at Interplay Theatre in Leeds.

Online: Stacy Makishi's The Ritual is on Tue 29 Nov (look for Storbritannien when selecting country).
All the DaDaFest shows are available until 18 Dec. There's also Lowri Evans's TelenovelaUnity Online has just added new content; and there's Lowry Digital, HOMESCREEN, MIF Watch On Demand + Sadlers Wells Digital Stage and the Word of Warning YouTube.

The Weekly Warning is going to take a break until things liven up again but will be back in time for PUSH Festival (20 Jan-18 Feb).
In the meantime keep checking our News + Information page for more pointers to opportunities and show videos online, and @WarnMcr on Twitter for short-notice performances.
And a reminder that Turn, our open call dance platform is open for proposals (deadline 13 Jan) - find out more and submit your proposal here.
