warnmcr: push here to turn on flare...

As the winter of discontent rumbles on, the there's a small flare of festivals pushing into view....

IRL:
This weekend Turn On Festival at Hope Mill Theatre (14-21 Jan) has its Development Grant Evening tonight, Fri 20 Jan. You can also still catch Factory International's First Breath until 29 Jan; and PUSH Festival at HOME's programme of exhibitions and workshops gets going.
In Liverpool on Sat 21 Jan, the Everyman has a Scratch Studio and Raven Radha's Gaslit is at the Unity.

Next week (w/c 23 Jan) the pace really picks up:
The Lowry has Andrea Salustri's Materia and Zinnia Oberski's Dreams of the Small Gods on a double ticket deal on Tue 24 Jan; plus there's a screening of Yewande 103's Fountain on Thu 26 Jan (as part of their LIVE NOW digital workshop programme). At PUSH, Mothers Who Make's Test the Waters jumped out at me on Sat 28 Jan.

Meanwhile, there's Future Flares at Manchester School of Theatre (tickets max £5) with: on Wed 25 + Thu 26 Jan Arnold and Komarov Travelling Theatre's Shame on You! (also at New Adelphi on Fri 27 Jan); on Thu 26 Jan Tania Camara's As I Am Naturally and Will Dickie's White Sun; and on Fri 27 Jan Devise one action or gesture that can easily be repeated and Michael Pinchbeck + Kevin Egan's Matchsticks Remastered (w-i-p).

Elsewhere, on Wed 25 Jan, Avital Raz's Unnatural Cycles is at The New Continental in Preston; and Proto-type Theater's Dead Cats is at Lancaster Arts.

The following week (w/c 30 Jan) calms down again - Gary Clarke Company is at Contact; Macondo is at The Lowry and Alexa Vox is at PUSH at HOME. Theatre Re and Ad Infinitum are in Ormskirk; and David Hoyle is in the film Hedda (after Ibsen) in Liverpool.

Online: PUSH has Lowri Evans's Telenovela nightly from 21 Jan; and as ever, there's also Unity Online; and there's Lowry Digital, HOMESCREEN + Sadlers Wells Digital Stage and the Word of Warning YouTube.

In the meantime keep checking our News + Information page for more pointers to opportunities and show videos online, and @WarnMcr on Twitter for short-notice performances.
