warnmcr: retailiation...

On this blackest of fridays* heralding the retail festival of humbugmonth, I suspect this might be the last of these mails for the year before the world gets much more festive than I can deal with! This weekend is looking lively, as is next week - thereafter we head into unironic xmas show territory:

IRL:
This weekend, tonight, Fri 26 Nov, Botis Seva's BLKDOG is at The Lowry; The Queer House'sPink Lemonade is at Contact (also Sat 27 Nov); Malandra Jacks' A City Beneath the City is at East Manchester Academy; while Figs in Wigs' Astrology Bingo is at HOME; which also plays host to Xavier de Sousa's Regnant tomorrow Sat 27 Nov.

Further afield,  Victoria Firth's The Butter Piece is at CLAY in Leeds on Fri 26 Nov; DaDaFest's DDFS21 has a series of scratch performances at Unity, until 27 Nov and Julia Griffin's I Used To Be is in Warrington on Sat 27 Nov.

Next week, w/c 29 Nov Dibby Theatre First Time is at Contact (30 Nov - 4 Dec); Sleepwalk Collective + Christopher Brett Bailey's Psychodrama is at HOME Fri 3 + Sat 4 Nov; and The Family Vogue Ball is at Z-arts also Fri 3 + Sat 4 Nov. Elsewhere Aidan Moesby's I Was Naked Smelling of Rain is in St Helen's on Wed 1 Dec.

The following week, w/c 5 Dec pretty much sees the onset of panto - though for a different take you can see Sh!t Theatre's Sing-a-long a Muppet Christmas Carol at HOME (7-9 Dec) and at CLAY in Leeds on Fri 10 Dec.

Online:
New - IBT has Lucy Cash & Mark Jeffery’s Winterage: Last Milk until approx 4 Dec; Narcissister's Organ Player on Thu 9 Dec (+ 2 wks after) and a Queer School of Live Art Cabaret on Sat 18 Dec.
You can still listen to DreamFM's What Do You Dream Of at 9pm nightly til Thu 16 Dec. The Lowry has Frantic Assembly's I Think We Are Alone
HOME's HOMEMAKERS is still running and there's also still MIF Watch On Demand and Unity Online (including catch ups of in person programme).  As ever, have a look at Word of Warning's YouTube channel for previous events and Domesticated our home for online video.

I'll be back if anything unmissable pops up - otherwise expect normal service to resume in the New Year when the performance world wakes from its seasonal stupor.

Keep checking our News + Information page for more pointers to opportunities and show videos online, and @WarnMcr on Twitter for short-notice performances.

*Black Friday - the chance for retailers to recoup losses by offloading tat they haven't managed to shift - so no, retailiation wasn't a typo! ;)
