Still reeling a little from the whirl that was Akeim Toussaint Buck's Windows of Displacement last night, in actuality, as this reaches you I'm in a wheeled tin box hurtling (or crawling) my way towards Birmingham for Fierce Festival (til Sun 22 Oct)...
This weekend, you can still catch Igor and Moreno's Andante tonight Fri 20 Oct and Clod Ensemble's Under Glass (til Sat 21 Oct) at The Lowry; while Darren Pritchard Dance's Body of Light is at Lancaster Arts on Sat 21 and Sale Waterside on Sun 22 Oct. In Liverpool 1927's Golem is at the Everyman (til Sat 21 Oct). (Apparently Instructions for Border Crossing at the Unity has been cancelled). Looking east Forced Entertainment's Tomorrow's Parties is at Theatre Delicatessen, Sheffield tonight Fri 20 Oct; while Lucy Hopkins's Le Foulard is at the HUB, Leeds on Sun 22 Oct.
Next week (w/c 23 Oct) Contact has Le Gateau Chocolat's Duckie on Tue 24 + Wed 25 Oct for the young at heart; while The Lowry has Candoco's Double Bill on Tue 24 Oct. With our vested interest in plain view, Word of Warning will be orbiting Chanje Kunda's Superposition – also at The Lowry on Thu 26 + Fri 27 Oct.
Further afield Edge Hill has KT vs FK's Strange Loop on Tue 24 Oct; Axis, Crewe has Paul O'Donnell's We've Got Each Other on Tue 24 Oct and Third Angel's 600 People on Fri 27 Oct; and Bradford Theatre in the Mill has Rebecca Atkinson Lord's The Class Project Fri 27 + Sat 28 Oct.
Festival opening of the week goes to Contact, for Flying Solo 2017 (27 Oct-11 Nov) with Afreena Islam, Demi Nandhra, Jackie Hagan on Fri 27 + Sat 28 Oct; and continuing the following week with Sheyda Darab, Sarah Blanc, Paul O'Donnell, and Elmi Ali amongst others.
Also the following week (w/c 30 Oct) Theo Clinkard is at The Lowry and Jubilee is at The Royal Exchange. A pair of forthcoming Word of Warning shows crop up further afield: Two Destination Language at Edge Hill; and Rent Party, kicking off Liverpool's Homotopia – which then continues with François Testory (also showing at Lancaster Arts.)
Apologies for that very complicated last sentence - hopefully the links make it clear! Maybe I should just focus on driving - or sitting in a traffic jam... Don't call the police, though, this Weekly Warning was not actually brought to you by a mad women typing while driving but by the power of time-travelling auto-scheduling!
