warnmcr: the birds and the beasts... or Caution! Horses!

Word of Warning...
So, back in Manchester and back in harness and we're gearing up for a pretty full-on month or so.  This quiet half-term week comes to a close with Mammalian Diving Reflex's Nightwalks With Teenagers from Contact (til 22 Feb); and in Lancaster, Amy Sharrocks' Museum of Water is at the Storey Institute (also til 22 Feb).

Next week sees Word of Warning unbelievably busy:  starting on Tue 24 Feb, we trot into The Lowry for an equestrian double bill: Leentje Van de Cruys' Horse plus Whoaaaaa Steady!, made with collaborators from University of Salford.  We stay at The Lowry for Mark Thomas's Cuckooed on Wed 25 Feb - genuinely the best thing I saw in Edinburgh last year and a brilliant example of the marriage of performance and activism (if you're quick there are a very few tickets remaining).

We then move back to Z-arts for Haphazard, our second free all ages live art day on Sat 28 Feb.  It features Liz Clarke, Robert Foster, Julieann O'Malley, Leo Burtin, Peter Jacobs, Josh Coates, Rachel Ramchurn, Natasha Patel, Ultra Violets PLUS the return of the delightfully eccentric Levantes Dance Theatre and a bonus micro-herd of cows thanks to Lani Irving! We may also have surprise guest waiters in the cafe...

Manchester in general is dead busy - with DV8's John at the Lowry on Thu 26 + Fri 27 Feb, Blast Theory's Too Much Information at the Royal Exchange and FutureEverything everywhere (25-28 Feb - check out the opening gala, and Nyloïd).  Further afield at the Unity, Liverpool there's a chance to see David Rosenberg + Glen Neath's Fiction on Fri 27 + Sat 28 Feb.

The following week, in fact the following month, there's no let-up - with the opening of SICK! Festival in Manchester - a huge programme of work across multiple venues (week one features Pieter Ampe, Chris Green, Lois Weaver  + more) and which  includes WoW's co-promotion of Hunt & Darton Cafe (watch this space for the location reveal).  Also coming up is Jasmin Vardimon at the Lowry. Sleepwalk Collective at Axis, Crewe, and the Hear Me Roar weekender in Lancaster.

So off to take a deep breath over the weekend ahead of the ensuing madness

best

Tamsin
