warnmcr: turn and turn-about...

As we witness the biggest tax u-turn imaginable, for us basic mortals it seems pretty much to be a case of the Chancellor giveth and the Chancellor taketh away... In more positive u-turns, following a 6 year hiatus, I can announce the return of Turn, our open call dance platform coming to Contact in March 2023 - so if you are of a choreographic persuasion, you can find out more and submit your proposal here.

This weekend, Frantic Assembly's Othello is at The Lowry (until 19 Nov).
Further afield, a trip east could be on the cards. Leeds is busy with Compass Festival (18-27 Nov), featuring Silvia Mercuriali, Toni Lewis, Amy Lawrence, Empathy Museum, Popeye Collective, Satellite. Yorkshire Dance has No Dress Code dance scratch night on Fri 18 Nov; while on Sat 19 Nov Vincent Dance's Hold Tight is at NSCD and gobscure' heartfelt is at the Holbeck. Down the road in Sheffield, the Drama Studio has Ridiculusmus's Beautiful People on Sat 19 Nov.
To the west, Ugly Bucket's Stuffed is at the Unity (until 19 Nov) while Julia Griffin, Steve Sutton + Jamie Colvin's Trap is at New Arts Spaces, Warrington also on Sat 19 Nov

Lancaster Arts has Avital Raz's Unnatural Cycles on Tue 22 Nov and Will Dickie's White Sun on Thu 24 Nov. Warrington Contemporary Fringe Festival runs 25-27 Nov + 1-4 Dec; while in Leeds Compass Festival is ongoing and The Lighthouse is at the Holbeck on Sat 26 Nov.
