warnmcr: look what you made me do...

Since the stall in the decline of the UK inflation rate is apparently down to Swiftonomics maybe the wider performing arts can shake off the bad blood of the past 14 years as this cruel summer taunts us with its fleeting appearance.  Before the seasonal blank space of August descends, there's a little flurry to come:

This weekend, The Lowry has Brave Space (until 20 Jul).
Elsewhere, Lowri Evans's I'm Glad You Came greets arrivals on Sat 20 and Sat 27 Jul at Warrington Central Station.

Next week (w/c 22 Jul) we are back at Z-arts on Sat 27 Jul with the joyful chaos that is Haphazard (full programme now online).
Elsewhere Refract Festival is on in Sale (23-28 July); Switch_Mcr's OUT LOUD is at The Edge, 25-27 Jul; and Slavs + Tatars' Transliterative Tease is at ESEA Contemporary on Sat 27 Jul.
On the GM Fringe, HER Productions' Sunny Girl is at the New Adelphi 22-25 Jul); Kyra Scott's It Is What It Is is at The Kings Arms on Fri 26 + Sat 27 Jul; and Boyography is at Social Refuge on Sat 27 Jul.

Beyond Mancunia, in Warrington, Company Carpi's Disunited Jukebox is at the Parr Hall on Thu 25 Jul.
Look After Your Knees is at Leeds Playhouse on Fri 26 Jul.

The following week (w/c 29 Jul) Shakespeare North in Prescot has A Caravan Named Desire 30 Jul- 1 Aug and, further ahead, Ridiculusmus's Alas! Poor Yorick 22-24 Aug.

Online, check out Melanie Wilson's Dreaming Species listening experience for headphones.

A reminder that  my attempt to sieve through the listings for what I think might be worth a look is at the blog version of this mail. Aside from the International Festival, your safest bet is probably the Here & Now Showcase.

Keep checking our News + Information page for more pointers to opportunities and show videos online, and @WarnMcr on Twitter (X if you must) for short-notice performances.

And for the artists out there, you've got til 2 August for the open call for proposals for Emergency (28 Sep).

Hope to see lots of you at Haphazard.

Best
